Shenandoah National Park Fall Engagement

Rachel is friends with one of my past brides. One day she direct messaged me on instagram and said that when she got engaged she wanted me to capture it! Little did she or I know that the wait would only be a few days. Just a few days after she sent me that message Jamie popped the big question!!! AND OF COURSE SHE SAID YES!!

A month later we met in Shenandoah National Park for their engagement session! If you have never been to Shenandoah National Park, it is a really pretty drive. There is one road called Skyline drive that runs the whole length of the park. It curves through the mountains offering some stunning views all from your car. This drive is especially pretty in the fall when the leaves change. Now if you are from the Virginia you probably know that there is a such a things as peak leaf week! This is the optimal time to visit the park to see the leaves change colors. Now I do not know if it was because our session fell close to peak leaf week or because everyone is just tired of being inside due to the lockdowns, but when I tell you the crowds in the park this day were INSANE, I MEAN COMPLETE MADNESS!! HAHA It took me close to 2 hours to get from about a mile outside of the park to the location we were meeting! 2 FREAKING HOURS!!! There were cars and people every where! I shoot in Shenandoah pretty often and let me just say I have NEVER SEEN IT LIKE THIS! Thankfully once we made it through the craziness were we able to find some secluded spots (I definitely still had to edit people out of the background) and get some epic views! Once we hiked a little of the beaten path, we were able to pop some bubbly and watch the sunset in peace!! Haha

I will fight through 2 hours of crowds for my couples any day! Congrats Jamie & Rachel! Cannot wait to party with you guys on your big day!!
