Hawksbill Mountain Engagement in Linville Gorge Wilderness

Drew & Nicole were planning a little getaway to the Boone/Asheville NC area to take a break from the stress that was 2020. A little before their trip took place, Drew proposed! YAY!! Now newly engaged Nicole began to researching photographers in North Carolina. Hoping to get some adventurous engagement photos in the Mountains, Nicole came across my page on instagram. She reached out and If you know me, you know I am always down for an adventure in the mountains! So having just recently moved to North Carolina I began to research spots in the Mountains for their session. We decided on a hike in Linville Gorge Wilderness just off the Blue Ridge Parkway! We met at the trailhead and began our trek up the mountain chatting and getting to know each other. From everything I read beforehand the hike was not long at less than a mile. We started off at a very easy climb and we thought it was going to be that way all the way up, but boy were we wrong! A good ways into the hike the trail curves back on it self and becomes very VERY STEEP! We continued to climb despite the crazy incline. Not knowing how much longer the trail was just made it feel like it was never going to end, but we finally made it to the top!! Coming face to face with the incredible views that the top offered made it ALL WORTH IT! Seriously just look at this gorgeous landscape!

Even though it was only mid September at the time, the temperature was quite chilly and the Skys were gray. Honestly though this worked in our favor because we encountered very few people at the top! Having the top all to ourselves for most of the time we were able to take our time and explore! Having so few people up there allowed me to show off the space with just Nicole and Drew and it was magical! It was a dream getting to work with these two and capture this chapter of their love story for the world to see! I would hike up this mountain again for you guys any day! Haha
