Lake Lure North Carolina Intimate Wedding

For those of you who might not know before I was a full time photographer, I was an ultrasound technologist for 6 years at a local hospital in Virginia Beach. Surprisingly this former career of mine is what led to me capturing Sheena and Bill’s Lake Lure wedding this past March. You see Sheena is also an Ultrasound tech and she just so happens to work with one of my former ultrasound classmates. So when Sheena became engaged, my classmate Amy recommended her to me! And boy am I so grateful because Bill and Sheena were just the sweetest to work with! We met up a few months before their big day to capture their engagement photos at the Norfolk Botanical Garden in Virginia and then in March we met up again at Lake Lure in North Carolina! Their Wedding took place literally two weeks before everywhere went into look down due to Covid. Even though it was before the lockdown and all the other restrictions that are now in place Sheena and Bill had decided on having an intimate wedding and had just their closest family & friends in attendance.

Even though Asheville North Carolina had had snow the weekend before, Sheena & Bill’s Wedding day was absolutely perfect. They had brilliant blues skies and 70 degrees despite it being early spring. And can we talk a second to talk about their VENUE?!?! I mean it deserves all the heart emojis! The 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa is tucked away in the mountains near Asheville North Carolina. This little inn has so much character and charm that it made for a gorgeous backdrop for Sheena and Bill’s big day. Not to mention that Lake Lure was just a short walk across the street. A fun little fact about the The 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa is that it was one of the filming locations for a pretty famous movie!!! Can you guess it?!?!? It was DIRTY DANCING!!!!! And you best believe that the song “Time Of My Life” was played at the Reception with everyone belting out the words!!

It was a beautiful day filled with love, laugher, and surrounded by family!! Gosh I just love my job!
