Max Patch Fall Engagement Session

When one of your closet friends gets engaged you ROADTRIP!

Katelyn and I have been friends for years. We met while both serving as youth leaders for our church along with our other good friend Cierra. We all bonded over books, movies and all the craziness of being youth leaders!! Let me just tell you WE HAVE SOME CRAZY STORIES! Haha! Cierra left us first to move to Charlotte, North Carolina and then about a year later Katelyn also made the move to Charlotte (they left me! HOW RUDE). Katelyn wanted to change things up and the company she worked for had a location in Charlotte which she could transfer to. Although I am still a little salty that these two left me, it turned out to be the best move for Katelyn! Not too long after she made the move she met Carlos at her work! When Katelyn texted me that Carlos had proposed we began chatting about where we should do their engagement photos. She wanted somewhere with a great view, but also not a crazy hike to get to so we decided  on Max Patch in North Carolina. Its about a 3 hour drive from Charlotte, but its a very short hike that offers a 360 view of gorgeous mountains.

The first weekend in November I was in Charlotte and the four of us (Katelyn, Carlos, Cierra, and I) hopped in one car and made the drive to Max Patch. It was a very nice day, sunny and in the 60s. This Roadtrip was actually the first time I was hanging out with Carlos and seeing him interact with Katelyn. It was so sweet seeing how they made each other laugh and had the same humor. They had all of us laughing during the session. Remember I said it was a nice day? Well when we got to the top of the mountain that was a different story! On the the short walk up the mountain (you drive most of it) I actually saw snow on the ground. With the wind chill it felt like it was a billion degrees below 0. That maybe a bit dramatic, but it was absolutely freezing and we didn’t last long. Even though we didn’t last too long in the freezing wind we were able to capture some magic as the sunset set over the mountains!
