There's just something magical about a couple photoshoot in NYC—especially when it takes place in the city where your love story first began. I had the absolute joy of photographing Mark and Taylor one chilly January morning in the iconic DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn, and it was such a special session from start to finish.
Mark and Taylor first met in New York City back in January of 2020—just before the world would change. They began dating shortly after, sharing countless memories in the city that never sleeps. From cozy dates in coffee shops to exploring all that NYC has to offer, this place quickly became the backdrop of their budding love story.
In the summer of 2021, life took them in different directions as they both moved away from the city for graduate school—Mark to one state, and Taylor to another. Despite the miles between them, they continued their relationship long-distance, proving just how strong their connection truly is.
Fast forward to January 2023—Mark and Taylor returned to NYC for the holidays, and we made time to capture some updated couple photos while they were in town. DUMBO Brooklyn was the perfect spot for this NYC couple photoshoot. With its cobblestone streets, stunning views of the Manhattan Bridge, and that soft winter light, the morning felt straight out of a movie.
Even in the cold, these two were full of warmth. Their laughter, the way they looked at each other, and the comfort they share was so genuine—it made my job easy. We wandered through the streets of DUMBO, taking breaks to warm up and soak in the city they once called home.
This session wasn’t just about beautiful photos—it was about honoring the city where their story began, and freezing this season of life in time before the next chapter unfolds.
