Virginia Shenandoah Mountains Elopement
OK Lets talk about Rob & Susan!!
These two met 3 years ago in Northern Spain. At the time Susan was living and working in Washington D.C. Rob is from Ireland. They Both Just happened to be in Spain, walking the SAME PART of the Camino de Santiago at the EXACT SAME TIME!! Like seriously what are the odds?!? They have been doing long distance ever since, with Susan visiting Rob in Ireland and Rob making trips to D.C to see Susan. BUT NOT ANY MORE FOLKS!! Susan reached out to me about capturing their elopement in April with Rob still in the process of attaining a Visa for him to move to the states.
These two love to hike and be outdoors so Shenandoah National Park in Virginia was the perfect location! We set a tentative date in May and as long as everything went as planned with Rob’s Visa we would be all set to go!!
About a week or so before our scheduled date Rob got approved and we were on! The type of Visa Rob got gave them 90 days to get married so it was great that Susan had everything planned already. I met Rob and Susan at a cute little place they got just outside Shenandoah Park for the weekend to grab some “getting ready” photos. We then did a first look at a nearby park before we made the 30 minute drive to Shenandoah Nation park for some stunning views of the Blue Ridge mountains. We ran around the park for a few hours snapping photos and then right before sunset we made our way to the ceremony site. We were a little nervous that is might be crowded since we picked an easily accessed overlook in the park for the ceremony site, but thankfully this day we had it all to ourselves!! It was such a sweet ceremony as the sun set behind us! Rob and Susan ended the evening with some scotch they had pick up in Ireland!! These two plan to take a drink of it every year on their anniversary!!
A few days after their ceremony Rob and Susan flew down to see Susan’s family and surprise them with the great news and they sent photos back to Rob’s family in Ireland. They plan to have a big celebration later this year with all their friends and family!
